Dim Sim Soup

A delicious soup full of flavour and using chicken or beef dim sims.

Serves: 4 people

  •  1 litre salt-reduced Chicken Stock
  •  125ml (1/2 cup) salt-reduced soy sauce
  •  30 pieces of Chicken or Beef Dim Sims (Homai, Golden Wok, Emperor brand)
  •  5cm-piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks
  •  2 garlic cloves, crushed
  •  3 baby bok choy, bases trimmed, leaves separated
  •  4 green shallots, ends trimmed, diagonally thinly sliced
  •  1 large red carrot, peeled and sliced
  •  ¼ Chinese cabbage, shredded
  •  Pinch of salt
  •  ½ bunch coriander

Step 1

Place chicken stock, soy sauce, ginger and garlic in a saucepan and bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce to medium and add Chicken or Beef Dim Sims. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes until the Dim Sims are heated through.

Step 2

Stir in baby bok choy, red carrot and shallots. Cook for 1 minute or until boy choy just wilts. Remove from heat. Taste and season with salt. Serve in noodle bowls sprinkled with the remaining shallots.

Step 3

Top with coriander, chilli and serve.


Add a thinly sliced fresh red chilli if desired. A dash of oyster or sweet soy sauce will intensify the flavour.
